The class will be taught in the fall semester, five afternoons per week from 1PM-3PM at the downtown Peoria campus of Illinois Central College.
The class will be taught by faculty from the Health and Public Service department of ICC Students will receive credit in CRJ 110 (Introduction to the Criminal Justice System) and CRJ 116 (Introduction to Industrial and Business Security). Work-based learning opportunities will include field trips to area law enforcement agencies, and career speakers will come to class.
The college credits earned in this class will count as required or elective classes in several Associate in Applied Science degrees. After successfully completing these two courses, the student will meet private security licensing standards for the State of Illinois.
