NOMINATION: ››› NOMINATE A STUDENT ‹‹‹

Illinois Central College will select two students, graduating or transferring by August 2012, to receive the Student of the Year Award. Nominations will be reviewed by the Student of the Year Selection Committee, which is composed of seven faculty, two students, and one staff member. Award selection is by majority vote, and all proceedings of the committee are confidential.

Nomination Instructions:

  • Nominations may be made for any currently enrolled student
  • All ICC faculty (full time and adjunct) and staff are eligible to submit nominations. Students cannot nominate themselves or another student for this award
  • Each academic department is encouraged to submit at least one nomination per department (NOTE: For several years, the number of total nominations has been very low, so all departments are being challenged to participate)
  • There are no restrictions as to the number of students you may nominate, please be sure to nominate only one student per entry

Nominations Criteria:

  • Completion of a minimum of 60 semester hours* by the end of the 2012 spring semester
  • Above average or outstanding scholastic achievement
  • Consistent participation in campus activities and organizations, campus service projects, and community-related projects
  • Continued progress toward meeting goals
  • Exceptional standards of character and behavior

* Students with earned hours between 55-60 may be considered if they are also enrolled for the 2011 summer term
