Child DevelopmentAssociate in Applied Science - 65 Credit Hours
Program Information:
Graduates are prepared to work with pre-school children in nursery schools, child care centers, and pediatric units in health care facilities, and as assistants in public school classrooms. The program emphasizes opportunities for healthy social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of the child from birth through age eight. The child development student guides and supervises children in developmentally appropriate activities. Most classes are taught on campus with observation and practical experience provided in area child centers as well as in the Illinois Central College Child Center. Most hours in the program transfer to senior institutions.
