QUEST
Benefits
Starting college is a big step! QUEST is here to make the transition to ICC easier. Here are some of the ways we’ll help you get going at ICC:
- Special QUEST Orientation before Fall classes
- QUEST classes
- Social activities, trips, and events
- A bi-weekly newsletter
- An open-door policy where students can come with questions, concerns, and frustrations
How Can QUEST Advisors Help?
QUEST advisors are here for you! Students are assisted in making the transition from ICC to a four-year college or university through:
- Continued assistance in selecting classes that are appropriate for transfer. This includes referrals to academic advisors for specific majors
- Coordination with the Transfer Center to encourage college visits
- Sophomore/Parent Transfer Dinner to learn about the transfer process
- Referrals to appropriate resources in making career and college decisions
What is a QUEST Class?
QUEST classes are special sections of general education classes (i.e. Science, Math or English) reserved primarily for QUEST students.
These classes provide an opportunity to take an active part in the classroom learning, address a variety of learning styles, and encourage higher level thinking. A list of QUEST classes can be obtained in the QUEST office at the beginning of each enrollment period. Classes in the disciplines of English, Speech, Social Science, Math, Lab Science and Humanities or Fine Arts are usually offered in the Fall and Spring Semester. QUEST students are asked to enroll in one QUEST class each semester.
