Industrial and Business Security
Associate in Applied Science (Career Program) - 64 Credit Hours
Program Information:
The Industrial and Business Security curriculum is designed to provide general education as well as specialized courses in security work for individuals interested in entering or enhancing their careers in security fields. Other students may opt to substitute an approved elective in place of the internship. Students should be aware that each security agency has its own employment criteria. Most require a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent, verification of excellent physical health and that the applicant be at least 21 years of age.
Admission to the Program:
Students must submit an application for admission and transcripts of high school credit. Students not currently employed in security work are required to attend the summer internship session. Students must complete basic skills placement testing before admission into this program.
Program Note:
CRJ 115 Basic Training for Private Security Officers meets the requirements for licensure as a Private Security Officer in Illinois.
