Institutional Corrections
Associate in Applied Science (Career Program) - 65 Credit Hours
Program Information:
This program is designed to prepare students for employment in institutional corrections. This degree was developed by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) to meet the needs of their employees, especially those who seek advancement to supervisory positions. Students who have completed IDOC basic training are eligible to receive proficiency credit for that training. Students are urged to contact an advisor for additional information.
Program Accreditation:
This degree has been approved by the Illinois Community College Board.
Admission to the Program:
Students must submit an application for admission and transcripts of high school credits. Students should complete basic skills testing before initial enrollment. Many positions in probation and parole require a four year degree. Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor prior to their initial enrollment.
Program Note:
This degree program is offered online with the exception of the science courses. Please contact the department for further information.
