ICC-China Exchanges

ICC has an on-going relationship of student and faculty exchanges with two institutions in southeast China.  We have memoranda of understanding with Xiamen Huaxia College and Shenzhen Polytechnic to engage in a variety of programs and activities.

At this time, two faculty have been to Huaxia College through the exchange.  One taught ESL classes for one month and one provided technical assistance in database management.  In spring semester 2007 another faculty member will go to Huaxia College to teach ESL for two months.

Additional opportunities may be available in the future.  To learn more about the experiences of those faculty and staff who have provided project service in China,
contact Shari West (309)694-5374 and Bill Beckner (309)694-8419. Dr. Barbara Burton and Dr. Jill Wright have visited both of the exchange colleges. Dr. Jill Wright is scheduled to provide teaching in China in Spring 2007.

As part of the Illinois Consortium of International Studies and Programs (ICISP), ICC offers its full-time faculty and administration the opportunity to participate in two-week professional and cultural exchanges with the Netherlands and Finland. The faculty member or administrator is matched as closely as possible with a faculty member or administrator with similar job responsibilities. The two-week exchange allows for nine days of professional exchange, three days of weekend time, and a day of orientation upon arrival. English is spoken at both locations. All arrangements are made by ICISP in cooperation with ICC.
