The Teaching and Learning center offers many opportunities for both faculty and staff to learn Blackboard at all levels. Opportunitites to learn other technology and techniques related to Blackboard are offered throughout the year.

Getting Started: Blackboard Basics

Single session introduction to Blackboard. Perfect for beginners or those who need a refresher.

Blackboard Workshop Online

Blackboard workshops guide faculty through developing a Blackboard course site while experiencing Blackboard from a student’s perspective. This workshop is delivered completely online with in-person support from the Teaching and Learning Center staff. Participants will work on weekly tasks over six weeks. Participants who would like one-on-one help during the workshop may visit the TLC, 240A for assistance!

The Blackboard Institute

This Institute is formatted for instructors who have limited or no prior experience with
Blackboard. The Blackboard Institute will guide faculty through developing a Blackboard course site to be used with a traditional, hybrid or online course. Faculty will develop
technical and pedagogical skills in Web-based instruction while experiencing Blackboard from a student’s perspective.
Recommended Participants:
• faculty new to Blackboard
• faculty who want to create a Website to support or enhance any type of course
• faculty who use Blackboard but have not already experienced the Institute
• faculty who have been to an Institute but wish a “refresher” course on the basics.
