Clinical Laboratory Technician

Criteria for Admission

1 Graduation from high school, or equivalent: High School recommendations: 4 years English/communications; 2 years algebra; 1 year geometry; 1 year biological science; 1 year chemistry
2 Appropriate ENGL 110 and READ 115 placement test scores;
3 An ACT composite score of 20 or above (18 or above if tested prior to October 28, 1989)
4 At least a "C" average in courses taken at other colleges, in the case of transfer students
5 At least a "C" average in 18 or more approved semester hours taken at Illinois Central College, in the case of students not initially admissible to the program
6 One year of high school chemistry or equivalent
7 MAT 108 with a grade of "C" or better or a math placement test score into MATH 115
8 BIOL 140 or (BIOL 145 and BIOL 146) with a grade of "C" or better
9 Mandatory observation in a clinical laboratory or CLT student laboratory. Required high school courses must be completed with at least a "C" grade. A physical examination will be required upon admission to the program.
Recommended High School Courses:
1 Four years of English/speech
2 Three years of mathematics, including two years of algebra and one year of geometry
3 One year of biological science
4 One year of chemistry
