Admission To Health Careers

The Selection Process

After the Application Deadline, your packet will be scored according to the point selection criterion for each specific Health Careers Program. Points are awarded in the following areas:

  • GPA, All College cumulative
  • ACT Score
  • Grade Points Earned in Prerequisite Courses
  • Grade Points Earned in General Education Courses
  • Previous Health Degree or Certificate or Licensure in Health Discipline
  • Work/Volunteer Experience in Health Field
  • Previous Application

To obtain specific information regarding the point selection criterion, please go to the Health Career Programs - Admission Criteria/Point Selection. Please note that there are separate point templates for current high school and post high school students.

Applicants will be ranked according to points earned. Some seats are reserved for high school students and other admission groups.

Invitations to enter a program will be mailed by mid March for FALL start dates, early November for SPRING start dates, and early April for SUMMER start dates.

To accept an invitation to a program, you must return the postcard by the date indicated and complete the required Criminal Background Screening form as directed in your acceptance letter. Please follow the specific directions in your acceptance letter regarding advisement.
