Admission Groups
In the interest of fairness to various groups of applicants seeking admission to health programs, the College maintains several categories for admission into most programs:*

There are presently no categories in the Nurse Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Medical Services Paramedic, Medical Transcriptionist, and Medical Coder programs.
In addition, some admission slots in Certificate/Degree programs are reserved for qualified Workforce Investment Act (WIA, formerly JTPA) students: Medical Office Assistant or Medical Assistant - 4, Radiographer - 1, Surgical Technologist - 1, Licensed Practical Nurse - 1, Physical Therapist Assistant - 1 and Registered Nurse - 1. All WIA slots are to be filled by December 1 for SPRING semester classes, and by July 15 for FALL semester.
Of course, the above categories are strictly adhered to only when there is a sufficient number of qualified applicants in each category. The categories for each program are reviewed annually by the Dean of the Peoria Campus.
