This program provides grant assistance to Illinois freshmen who meet eligibility criteria set by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission at approved post-secondary schools in Illinois. ISAC awards $250 per term, for a maximum of two terms, while the student is considered a freshman. Freshman status at ICC is defined as a student with earned credit hours of zero through twenty-eight (including transfer credit hours). The student must have a zero expected family contribution (EFC) determined by completion of the FAFSA.
A student must be an Illinois resident and enrolled at least half-time (six credit hours) in an eligible degree or certificate program. The IIA grant will not pay for audit courses, credit-by-examination, non-credit, summer courses or courses administratively withdrawn. Such course work cannot be used to meet the half-time enrollment requirement.
