The Federal PLUS Loan Program offers educational loans to qualified parents of dependent undergraduate students. Students must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible for loans.
The maximum amount a parent can borrow per academic year for each dependent student is the difference between the student's cost of attendance and the amount of financial assistance awarded. The loan amount may not be more than the college recommends.
PLUS loan applications are subject to credit checks and may be denied to parents with adverse credit, as defined by Federal Regulations.
