Financial Aid

Financial Assistance is a broadly-based comprehensive program set up to help students financially pursue their post-secondary education. For you to receive financial assistance, you must first file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) through a federal data processor to find your eligibility for assistance. The total amount of assistance you receive varies according to your need.

Your need is the dollar difference between the actual costs of attending Illinois Central College and how much you and/or your family can afford to pay to meet these costs.

Your need is met with a financial assistance package which is a combination of various types of resources (grants, scholarships, loans, and work). Illinois Central College participates in major federal and state assistance programs. Financial assistance is broken down into three types of assistance:

Grants and Scholarships
Federal Pell Grant
Illinois Student Assitance Commission - Monetary Award Program (ISAC-MAP)
Illinois Incentive for Access Program (IIA)
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
Special Category Scholarships

Work
Federal Work-Study (FWS)

Loans
Federal Stafford Loan Program
Federal PLUS Loan Program
