Campus Speakers
Following Board policies on controversial issues and speakers, presentations with varying views on pertinent issues in open forum may be undertaken when the following conditions are met:
In such forum, any program involving an issue or person of a controversial nature will, if possible, provide a balanced presentation
A committee of students, faculty, and administration will select such speakers, with final approval by the College President
Classified Ads
Classified ads from students, faculty, staff, or the public (such as items for sale, housing, business services) are posted on the Classified Boards located near the Student Activities office, room 305B, East Peoria Campus or the Student Lounge areas of the Perley and Thomas Buildings at the Peoria Campus.
Fundraising
The College permits controlled campaigns and solicitations. Recognized student organizations are encouraged to raise funds to support their activities; however, such fundraising efforts are prohibited unless prior authorization has been obtained from the Manager of Student Activities, Room 305B.
Requests for raffles and/or requests to solicit donations from businesses or members of the community must be reviewed and approved by the Director of College Development and the Manager of Student Activities. Raffles licenses also must be obtained from the City of East Peoria and/or Peoria County depending on location of ticket sales and raffle drawing. Raffle applications are available in the Student Activities Office, 305B.
Student Event Scheduling
Requests for scheduling student events or activities are initiated with Student Activities staff, room 305B, who will assist in planning the activity and arranging services and facilities as necessary. Requests, which must be sponsored by an officially recognized student organization, must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the scheduled activity or event. This procedure also applies to appearances by guest speakers and political candidates.
Posting Policy
Posting and distribution regulations include but are not limited to posters, flyers, leaflets, booklets, signs, and banners. The regulations apply to ICC student organizations; ICC departments, offices, and employees; non-college businesses, organizations, and individuals; sales personnel; and politicians. All materials to be posted must be approved by the Student Activities office, room 305B, (309) 694-5201. A complete copy of the Posting Policy is available from Student Activities.
