Academy At ICC

The Academy at ICC is an alternative high school open to any student 14 to 20 years old who lives in the ICC community college district and has attended high school for at least 1 semester. The Academy is intended for high school students who want to change their lives and make a fresh start with their education. Students who are selected for the Academy take coursework to meet the graduation requirements specified by their local high school. The Academy at ICC does not issue high school diplomas. Students who complete the required coursework receive a diploma from their local high school.

The Academy is selective about the students that are accepted into the program, and space is limited to about 100 students each semester. Because the school does not have any special education staff to design and meet IEP's, students needing special education classes are recommended to remain in their school district where services can be provided. Current funding for the Academy is in the form of General State Aid.
