Donations underway for Used Book Sale

Beginning Monday, September 8, boxes will be out and ready for your donations to the Annual Chautauqua Used Book Sale. Bring in your books, children's books, CDs, DVDs, videos, books on tape, and puzzles. Recent editions of textbooks may also be donated. No old textbooks, please.
Donations boxes will be located --
East Peoria Campus -- in the Student Service Center Lobby, Information Desk/Atrium, 4th floor lobby, Room 313F, Math, Science & Engineering Faculty Lounge, Business & Information Systems Faculty Lounge, and Social Sciences Faculty Lounge.

Proceeds from the sale go directly to student scholarships. The sale is sponsored by the ICC Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges. The sale will be September 23 - 25, 11 am - 1 pm, in the Atrium. Please mark your calendars!

"Red Cross Ready" Seminar is Sept. 23 & 24

"Be Red Cross Ready" Disaster Preparedness Seminar
Learn from the American Red Cross Community Disaster Education about what you can do to be prepared for an emergency. Attendees will receive five wellness points. Those unable to attend may phone Ext. 5475 to request a videotape of the session.

Attend one of these informational sessions which are free and feature CHIP physician advocate John Miller, M.D. --
Thursday, September 4, 6 - 7 pm OR
Tuesday, September 9, 6 - 7 pm
Both sessions will be held at the Methodist Heart, Lung & Vascular Institute, 2nd floor, 112 NE Crescent, Peoria.
Cost for the 12-week program is $300 with additional participants in the same household paying just $250. The program will meet weekly on Tuesdays, September 16 - December 2, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., on the 2nd floor of the Midwest Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute, 112 NE Crescent, Peoria.
Discounts available -- ICC employees and retirees recieve a $100 discount plus Wellness Works points, and employees and retirees who repeat can receive 50 wellness points.
CHIP alumni are able to re-take the program for just $225 when they bring their own books. ICC CHIP alumni can re-take the class for only $112.50 (bring and friend and pay only $75).
Payment options -- Use a Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card and have your fee divided into three payments.

Thanks to our employees, we have reached 53% of our goal and we continue to Go for the Gold to raise $75,000. If you have never contributed to the employee campaign in the past think about contributing $15, that’s the cost of 2 movie tickets. Your $15 could go to purchase an iclicker and will Make Dreams Real for our students!
Turn in your completed pledge cards to the ICC Educational Foundation Room L425 by September 15! Green Ride Board Gives Links to Student Carpooling

Please let students who are interested in car pooling to know they can stop by Student Activities (Room 305B on the East Peoria Campus) to check out the "Green Ride" bulletin board. Those interested in carpooling should fill out a "green ride" card and turn it into the office. Staff will then keep the student information in a binder and will place a push pin in the map which indicates the town/area of origin for the student interested in carpooling to campus.

QUEST offers Bergner's Community Day Coupons

The ICC QUEST program (Quality Undergraduate Education for Student Transfers) is selling Bergner's "Community Day" coupon booklets. Each coupon booklet costs $5 and includes a $10 discount coupon as well as other coupons good at Bergner's at Grand Prairie on Saturday, November 15. All proceeds will benefit transfer scholarships for QUEST students. Coupon books may be purchased at the QUEST office (Room 302B) on the East Peoria Campus or e-mail lmcbride@icc.edu or phone Ext. 5280, and a booklet can be sent to you.
