The new ICC Student Food Pantry had a huge turn-out on December 9th and, thankfully, we did not have to turn anyone away. Altogether, we gave out 116 sacks of food. We do plan on making the Food Pantry a permanent one, but can only continue with your support. We are asking for food donations, but you can also make a monetary contribution to the Educational Foundation making sure it is marked for ICC Student Food Pantry. There is still time for a year-end tax-deductible contribution which would help us immensely. We will take monetary donations to the Foundation year-round also.
Currently our shelves are empty and we need to stock them again for our students in need, and there are many! These students are trying to improve the quality of their future lives through education, but the quality of their current lives suffers greatly when their pantries are empty. Needless to say, it is hard for the brain to learn if the body and mind are lacking proper nourishment. Thank you for your help in serving our students in their time of need! Their future accomplishments will more than repay your efforts!
To make a food donation, call 694-5182 for information about where to drop it off. To make a monetary gift to our student food pantry, send checks to the ICC Education Foundation, L 411 and be sure to write Student Food Pantry in the memo.
