Teaching Style
The EMT 110/111 and 210 are a combination of lecture (70%) and practical/lab (30%) areas. I tend to use a lot of lecture outlines on overhead as well as handing out lecture outlines. Textbooks and workbooks are used in the class, but I also bring in quite a bit of outside material and handouts. EMT classes require quite a bit of interaction with the class. Most class sessions are a mixture of lecture and practical lab areas. Class participation and discussion is strongly encouraged.
Projects / Hobbies
I still serve with a volunteer fire department and ambulance service and do volunteer work with organizations such as the Peoria Park District and the Tazewell County Firefighters Association. I also work with the American Heart Association as a volunteer.
