Underlying everything I do in any course I teach are two very basic beliefs: that when given responsibility for their educations, students excel, and that when equipped with appropriate tools, students rise to meet challenges. My job, then, is to create a classroom environment in which all students are comfortable taking on challenges, to set up challenging learning situations, and to introduce students to the tools they need to get the job done.
