Travels Through Literature
A series of lectures and discussions presented as a community service by the English Department faculty of Illinois Central College.
A Brief History of Travels through Literature
The Travels Through Literature series of lectures was started by Professor Ronald Kirkwood in the Fall of 1990; the original brochure from that year stated the series' overt purpose: "The English Department Faculty, eager to share their love of literature, volunteered to present this diverse series-a potpourri of fascinating topics-as a community service for your enjoyment." For over a decade, faculty members from the Department of English at Illinois Central College have promoted the study of literature and literary journeys through over seventy-five presentations. Please join in this lively tradition.
Donations collected at presentations support the Department of English Student Scholarship.
