Illinois Central College is committed to this process of making every voice heard in building an inclusive learning environment. Study Circle recommendations will be incorporated into the college's comprehensive Diversity Plan.
What is a Study Circle?
A study circle is a group of 8-12 people from different backgrounds and viewpoints who meet several times to talk about an issue
Everyone has an equal voice and people try to understand each other's views
The idea is to share concerns and look for ways to make things better
A facilitator helps the group focus on different views and makes sure the discussion goes well
Goals of ICC Diversity Study Circles
To create a collaborative problem-solving environment
To give voice and ownership in the diversity planning process
To inform the college's comprehensive Diversity Plan
To further the awareness and appreciation of diversity
