CHIP Tip No. 33: Natural Ovens Availability in Peoria Area

Natural Ovens bakes delicious whole grains breads, bagels, muffins and more—which many CHIPers have sampled during class.

Natural Ovens products previously were available in Peoria only at Naturally Yours in the Metro Centre. Now, some of their products are available at additional grocers.

We all know the benefits of choosing whole grain bread instead of a refined white bread or “imitation” wheat bread. Natural Ovens goes a step above by adding flaxseed to their breads. Flaxseed contains an Omega-3 fat that benefits the heart, brain, joints and the immune system. Flax also contains lignans that may lower the risk of breast, colon, and prostate cancers.

Most Natural Ovens breads are much lower in calories, sodium and sugar than other breads, not to mention higher in fiber. Hunger Filler is a great example. This delicious bread has only 60 calories per slices with a whopping 4 grams of fiber and only 85 mg of sodium—a tasty, healthy choice for filling you up with fewer calories.
