Nurse Consultant Services
The Child Care Connection and the Tazewell County Health Department have formed a partnership: the Healthy Cahild Care Illinois Child Care Nurse Consultant program, which is designed to improve quality in child care by providing health and safety education and training to those caring for young children. The primary responsibility of the Child Care Nurse Consultant is to bridge the gap between child care providers and child health experts by offering referrals, information, education and support. In addition the Child Care Nurse Consultant is available to assist with policy writing and assessments.

Professional Development & Training
The Child Care Connection offers:
- Quality Training and Technical Assistance
- Access to local and statewide Professional Development Opportunities and Unitiatives
- Scholarships for college tuition and books, conference, and workshop registration costs and credential and accreditation fees
The Child Care Connection offers training and technical assistance throughout a nine county area to all early childhood personnel and other interested individuals. Our training programs are designed to meet the needs of both new and experienced child care providers and are offered in a variety of styles, including full and half day conferences, workshop series, single workshops, seminares and on-site consultations.
Technical assistance and advisement is available to individuals entering the field and to those experience in the field of early childhood. Information and assistance is provided on early childhood career choices, college registration, credentialing programs, accreditation programs, statewide professional development initiatives.
Professional Development Scholarships and Quality Enhancement Grants are provided to eligible early childhhod professionals through Illinois Central College Child Care Connection. These grants are designed to cover college tuition and books, training fees, credential and accreditation cost and equipment purchases to enhance a learning environment.
Resources on Wheels
The Child Care Connection is one of seventeen child care resource and referral agencies in Illinois which received a Quality Counts Van as part of the Futures for Kids Initiative. The van is used for our Resources on Wheels program, and is a traveling lending library which visits child care providers throughout the service delivery area.
The focus of the library is to bring professional development activities to the provider and to enhance the literacy activities for the children. Materials included in the library are curriculum kits, literacy kits, big books, teacher resource books, compact disks and cassettes, and more. Materials may be checked out for approximately one month.
