Associate in Arts and Science Requirements

In addition to the General Requirements for a Degree, candidates for the degree of Associate in Arts and Science must complete at least 64 semester hours of TRANSFER CREDIT courses including the General Education requirements shown below. Up to four semester hours of occupational credit electives, labeled "OC", may be applied to the degree requirements. Check current IAI transfer status by confirming at www.iTransfer.org.

All students wishing to obtain the Associate in Arts & Science Degree must complete the current requirements as listed below regardless of the entry date into the transfer program.

English

6 semester hours

Communication

3 semester hours

Social Science

A total of 9 semester hours (three courses) are required. These courses must be taken in at least two of the following desciplines:

* Will not fulfill IAI if SOC 218 completed

** Will not fulfill IAI if PSY 210 completed

Mathematics

A total of 6 semester hours (two courses) are required. At least one of these courses must be taken from Group 1, and the other may be taken from either Group1 or Group 2.

* Transfer Credit, but NOT IAI approved courses for General Education

Laboratory Sciences

A total of 8 semester hours (two courses) are required. One of these courses must be a Life Science and one must be a Physical Science.

Humanities/Fine Arts

A total of 9 semester hours (three courses) are required. At least one of these General Education courses must be a Humanities course and at least one must be a Fine Arts course. The third course may be taken from either group.

Humnaities: 3-6 semester hours

Fine Arts: 3-6 semester hours

A maximum of 6 hours can be applied to fulfill both the General Education and IAI requirements in the areas of History and International Studies.

While a foreign language is NOT required for graduation at ICC, students are strongly advised to check the requirements of the program at the college or university to which they intend to transfer.
