Surgical Technologist Certificate
Certificate (Certificate Program) - 49 Credit Hours
The mission of the Surgical Technology Certificate program is to prepare competent entry-level surgical technologist able to function within the healthcare community.
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs in cooperation with the Accreditation Review Committee for Surgical Technologists (ARC-ST).
Admission to the Program:
Admission criteria include: (1) graduation from high school, or equivalent; (2) placement scores into ENGL 110 and READ 115; (3) an ACT composite score of 18 or above (16 or above if tested before October 28, 1989); 1 year high school BIOL or equivalent ("C" or better) (4) minimum "C" average in courses you are transfering to ICC: (5) for students not initially admissible to program minimum "C" average in 9 or more approved semester hours taken at ICC; physical examination.
Recommended high school courses: (1) four years of English/communication; (2) two years of mathematics; and (3) three years of biological science
Students are advised to complete all BIOL courses prior to first SURTK course.

Student must attain a "C" grade or higher in each BIOL and SURTK course in order to be retained in and graduate from the program.
