Nursing Assistant Program
Certificate (Certificate Program) - 6 Credit Hours
The mission of the Nursing Assistant Certificate program is to provide the resources, curriculum, and clinical experiences to enable program completers to attain entry-level employment as nursing assistants in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and other health care settings.
The Nursing Assistant Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Graduates are eligible to take the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program (NACEP) and become certified by the state of Illinois.
Admission to the Program:
Admissions criteria include: (1) score of 62 or better on the COMPASS score reading criteria; (2) drug screen, FeeApp criminal background check, physical exam, and required immunizations; (3) completion of CPR for the Healthcare Provider or concurrent enrollment in HLTH 041.
