Program Information:
The Automotive Fundamentals certificate program is designed for individuals who have an interest in working in the automotive industry. This program targets individuals with little or no mechanical experience, who will be primarily seeking entry-level skills in the automotive field. The Automotive Fundamentals program is articulated with the Automotive Technology Associate in Applied Science degree so the students seeking additional training could complete the degree requirement. Students also learn knowledge and skills that would assist them in successfully completing related degrees such as Diesel Powered Equipment Technology, General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program, and Caterpiller Dealer Service Technology. Students seeking employment directly after completing this certificate program would be qualified to complete many of the service aspects of automotive maintenance.
Program Accreditation: The program is aligned with NATEF certification guidelines and would allow students who complete the certificate to earn external accreditation.
