CONNECTIONS

CONNECTIONS consists of activities and resources designed to help individuals develop "real world" skills and insight applicable to business and social settings and sought by employers and to build their potential to become informed and effective citizens, employees, and community leaders.

CONNECTIONS complements the classroom and the workplace experience by providing opportunities for learning and development in the following areas: human relations and self-awareness, communication and public speaking, group dynamics and team building, understanding and appreciating diversity, creative thinking and problem solving, values clarification and ethics, goal setting and planning, conflict resolution and positive change.

Components of CONNECTIONS may include retreats (half day, one day, or weekend), workshops, interactive sessions called the Power Series, and the Leader in Residence program. Power Series sessions are presented by outstanding faculty, staff, alumni, or community representatives uniquely qualified to speak on the topic. Leader in Residence is a two-day intensive visit by a selected individual who shares personal testimony and insight through discussion of practical life-skill topics, issues, or theory.
