How much will this program cost?
The students will pay for tuition only. ICC tuition will be $82 per credit hour for the 2008-09 academic year. There are 42 semester hours associated with this program. Books and lab fees will be paid for by ATS. However, books will be returned at the end of each course.

I am not a resident within this school district. Will I be charged a higher tuition fee?
The tuition fee charged for all students enrolled into the ATS training program will be the same tuition fee as residents within the district. The tuition fee is currently $82 per semester hour for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Is financial aid available?
GI Bill and State funding are available through the financial aid office at Illinois Central College. Call 309.694.5323 for more information on grant programs, scholarships and financial aid.

Will I receive a diploma after the training?
No, this is a certificate program, however the college credit hours will apply toward a two year Associate Degree program.

Are there college credits given for these courses?
A total of 42 semester hours are accrued in this certificate program and can be applied toward a two-year associate’s degree.

How long does the program last?
Program duration is approximately 40 weeks.

How many days per week would I be in training?
Training will be held Monday through Thursday, eight hours per day.

Will I get hands-on training with this program?
Classes consist of classroom lectures as well as hands-on training sessions.

Will I be guaranteed a job at the completion of the program?
There are no guarantees. However, the intent of this program is to support and supplement the employment needs of ATS. It is the intent of ATS to provide full time employment to those individuals who successfully complete the program and display all of the desired cultural traits, professionalism and motivation to support our customers.

Is this program approved for use of my GI Bill?

What are the eligibility requirements to participate in the program?
The student will be financially responsible for the technical training and will be responsible to attend and successfully complete this training.

A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Applicant must provide an official transcript(s) for high school and post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable.

Applicants will be subject to tests focused on mechanical aptitude and applied math. These tests will display the potential to be successful in the completion of this program.

Applicants shall be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the program without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. Qualified candidates will meet the physical demands/work environment essentials listed within the Associate Maintenance Technician job description.

The image portrayed by the ATS workforce is very important to us. All applicants must posses a high level of professional appearance to be accepted and to maintain eligibility in the ATS program.

What are the expectations for the participants in the program?
There will be student expectation requirement regarding academic performance, classroom behavior, attendance, tardiness, professional image and safety.
