Heather Doty

Heather Doty, Head Coach

Entering her third year as ICC's head softball coach, Heather Doty hopes to improve on the 2007-08 NJCAA II national ranking of #13 with a record of 38-19. She brings both playing and coaching experience to the position. A Bradley pitching scholarship brought the Iowa City, Iowa, native to Peoria where she was a four-year varsity letter winner for the Braves and earned "Most Valuable Player" honors for her team and Missouri Valley All-conference honors her senior year. Presently, she ranks second on the career list for strikeouts and relief appearances at Bradley. Since graduation from Bradley in 1997, she has held a variety of coaching positions: assistant softball and volleyball coach at Millikin University (Decatur, Illinois); assistant volleyball coach at Morton High School; head softball and volleyball coach at Northland College (Ashland, Wisconsin); and head softball coach at University High School (Normal, Illinois). She is married to Robert Doty, head baseball coach at Spoon River College, and they have two sons, nine- year old Isaiah, and four-year old Lucas.

Kathy Holzhauer

Kathy Holzhauer, Assistant Coach

Kathy Holzhauer is entering her third year on the Cougar staff. A Washington native, she was a catcher on the '89 WCHS team finishing 3rd in state. After high school the love of the game turned into a love of coaching. Kathy began coaching Junior Olympic teams in 1990, she coached her first team to ASA Nationals in 1992. Kathy met her future husband Roger in '92, they were married in 1994. They began coaching together soon after. Kathy's teams have traveled extensively over the last 15 years. They have participated in tournaments in Hawaii, Florida, Kansas, Georgia and Texas. Kathy and Roger opened Team Works in Sunnyland in 2003. Kathy is on the Board of Directors on the Northern Tazewell Recreation Association, and is the travel ball coordinator. Kathy is the catching and outfield coach for the Cougars.

Katelynn Kessler

Katelynn Kessler, Student Assistant Coach

Kate Kessler has been with the Cougars for three years now. She transferred from Black Hawk College to play her sophomore year for the Cougars in the fall of 2006. She joined the coaching staff the following year as the catching coach. She is currently working on finishing her degree in Physical Education.

Emily Bozsoki

Emily Bozsoki, Assistant Coach

Emily is returning to the coaching staff for the second time in 2010, she was a former 2 year starter for the Cougars. She was a standout at second base committing only 5 errors in 60 games. She is currently working on her nursing degree.
