BELLEVILLE — The Illinois Central College men’s soccer team won its 12th straight match on Sunday after a 3-1 decision at Southwestern Illinois College.

Thomas Zadro scored all three goals for the Cougars (12-0-1). The freshman from Canada gave ICC a one-goal lead just two minutes into the first half and then completed his hat trick after intermission.

“We played a great game, start to finish,” said coach Oz Bakirdan, whose Cougars are ranked fourth in the NJCAA. “It’s the first time ICC has had 12 wins in a row.”

AURORA — Cougars goalie Sarah Schrader pitched her ninth shutout of the season after a 3-0 victory at Waubonsie Valley.

“It was a big win for us,” said ICC (10-4) coach Emily Peterson after the very first meeting between the two schools on the soccer pitch. “Our possession was probably the best it’s been all year.”
