Sports briefs: ICC blanks Heartland

NORMAL — Ally Redington, Kate Russell and Jenna Haste each scored goals as Illinois Central College (8-4) topped Heartland 3-0 on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Sarah Schrader recorded 12 saves on her way to recording the shutout. The Cougars beat the Hawks 3-1 in their first game of the season.
