EAST PEORIA — Zach Heinold scored 20 points as the Illinois Central College men's basketball team beat Spoon River 116-63 on Saturday at Lorene Ramsey Gymnasium.

"We just jumped out on them," ICC assistant coach Tim Sack said.

The teams had met just 13 days ago as the Cougars got a 24-point win.

ICC, who extended its win streak to seven, improved to 11-0 at home and wraps up a five-game homestand on Wednesday against John Wood.

The Mudcats (1-19, 0-8), losers of 10 in a row, trailed ICC at halftime 62-36.

Heinold, a Washington High grad, led four scorers in double figures.

With Lincoln Land losing to Parkland 70-67 on Saturday, ICC (17-6, 7-2) now sits in sole possession of second place in the Mid-West Athletic conference.

ICC on Feb. 11 gets a shot to avenge a 12-point loss to league-leader Lincoln at home.
