EAST PEORIA — Playing at the Lorene Ramsey Gymnasium this season, Illinois Central College men’s basketball improved to 7-0 with a 101-68 Mid-West Atheletic Conference win over Shawnee on Saturday afternoon.

"Like most teams, we’re just more comfortable at home," ICC coach Tony Wysinger said after the Cougars matched their season-high point total.

The Cougars shot the Lo-Ram lights out, going 51 percent from the field (30-for-59) and 50 percent from the 3-point line (10-of-20). ICC also scored 64 in the final 20 minutes.

Another reason ICC (12-6, 2-2) extended its home win streak was because of Zach Heinold.

Heinold played just 16:04 but made the most of every second. The Washington graduate came off the bench to score a game-high 26 on 9-of-12 shooting.

"The guys just found me," said Heinold, who was 8-for-10 from the behind the arc. "It started with (my teammates) setting the picks."

Wysinger has used the second half of the season to mix his starting lineup. However, the coach had to be happy with 23 turnovers forced by his squad.

"Defensively, we weren’t getting the job done," Wysinger said. "Tonight was a totally different story."
