ICC women win another on the road

The ICC women's basketball team won its seventh road game this season, knocking off Rend Lake, 76-69, in a battle of ranked teams Saturday afternoon.
Welch hit 7 of 10 shots from 3-point range — including four straight in a key second-half surge — to held lift the Cougars past the No. 23 Division I junior college team in the nation.
Rend Lake (8-4) jumped ahead 48-41 midway through the second half and seemed poised to snap a four-game loss string against the No. 2 team in Division II.
Welch had other ideas.
The 5-foot-5 freshman then hit four 3s to key a push late push fueled by the ICC reserves, who coach Steve Garber said helped wear down Rend Lake.
'Everyone filled their role and we started to wear them down mentally and physcially,' Garber said. 'We kept the intensity level up the whole way.'
Welch finished with a team-high 23 points. Kemmy Dominique scored 28 for Rend Lake.
