Cancer Awareness Fundraiser
This coming season, the women’s basketball team will also participate in a cancer awareness fundraiser. On Sunday, February 15th 2009, the women will place on sale pink wrist bands of which all proceeds go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund which is in unison with the V Foundation (named for the Jim Valvano Cancer Fund). We invite everyone to participate in this just cause for breast cancer awareness and research!
Mini-Basketball Clinic
The women’s basketball program recently served a mini-basketball clinic for PGSL (Peoria Girls Sports League), instructing them on some of the fundamentals of the game. Almost 100 2nd-8th graders participated in the clinic
Peoria Chapter of the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society
Then to serve the Peoria Chapter of the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, the student-athletes helped with registration and at the food tent that helped raise money for research in the Peoria area.
The Illinois Central College Women’s Basketball Team provides many community service hours each year as volunteers. Here, they offer their assistance in painting facilities at Camp Tapawingo on the annual "Day of Caring" that ICC holds each September.
