Architectural Construction Technology
Associate in Applied Science (Career Program) - 64 Credit Hours
Program Information:
This is a comprehensive program of study intended to develop a high degree of architectural drafting skill and to provide an understanding of the fundamentals of architecture and construction. Completion of the program prepares the student for immediate employment as a highly skilled technician in architectural and civil engineering, construction and building material manufacturing, or distributing firms. Typical job titles for graduates are: architectural detailer, architectural drafter, estimator, planning technician, field inspector, sales representative and laboratory technician. The program offers several options in tailoring the student´s studies toward career goals by implementing the appropriate electives into the program outline. Those students considering transfer of credit to a university for a baccalaureate degree should discuss their program goals and transferability of courses with their advisor. Agreements have been made for transfer without loss of credit, based upon specific electives being implemented into the program outline.
Admission to the Program:
Suggested high school courses should include three years of high school mathematics, one laboratory science course and one year of architectural drafting. Students must complete basic skills placement testing before admission into this program.
