Student Opportunities
As a student of the Caterpillar Dealer Service Technician Training program
there are many opportunities available that are designed to help you become
involved and further your education.
Save Money
You could save money on your tuition and books! Students of the Caterpillar
Dealer Service Technician Training program are elidgible to receive scholarships
and grants through Illinois Central College by visiting the scholarship
page of the main website.
Participate
You can become a member of a club or organization. At Illinois Central
College, there are over 40 different student-run organizations that operate
on campus and provide memership opportunities to students who share common
interests, expand educational experiences, and enhance career and leadership
development.
With the right grades you are elidgible for application into the honors
program. Students within this program who take pride in maintaining their
grade point average to 3.8 or above are encouraged to join the ICC honor
society Phi Theta
Kappa. If you graduate with honors, you wear a cord during the graduation
ceremony representing your achievement in accorance with the national
honor society.
You can compete along side of your classmates. VICA,
otherwise known as Skills USA, is a hands-on contest that all CATTK students
will have the opportunity to attend. Students from the CATTK program participate
in the Diesel portion of the written testing and competition. Your knowledge
and hands-on skills are tested in such areas as: Hydraulics, Engines,
Brakes, Etc. Your participation would not just be limited to the competition,
there are also opportunities for students to become part of the Illinois
Central College VICA Advisory Committee.
There are also various on-campus activities for you to meet other students
such as: plays, basketball games, volleyball games, open gym, etc.
