Automotive Technology Program Description
The Automotive Technology program is a two-year program that trains you
to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models. The program is certified
by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), a national accreditation organization
for automotive technicians.
The Automotive Technology program combines classroom learning with hands-on
experience. The shop is equipped with the latest electronic test equipment
to help you diagnose automotive problems. Once you've identified the problem,
you'll actually work on the vehicle to make the right adjustments. You'll
work on engine performance, engine repair, electrical systems, brake systems,
suspension, steering and alignment, manual transmissions and drive lines,
automatic transmissions and transaxles, and heating and air conditioning.
After completing the program, you can immediately enter the workforce
or continue your education by transferring to a four-year college or university.
