Horticulture Program Philosophy & Mission Statement

Statement of Philosophy

The Horticulture Program was founded on the belief that establishment, maintenance and improvement of the environment are essential to the quality of life of the citizens of the community college district. Quality of life will affect how individuals perceive their communities and themselves. It is essential to provide access for all citizens to an educational program that will provide appreciation, knowledge, and training in this endeavor. In accordance with the mission of Illinois Central College, the program strives to provide quality education appropriate to each individual’s needs within the bounds of fiscal responsibility. The program is committed to non-discrimination and equal opportunity regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, age, or physical capability. By representing the diversity of the district, the program enriches the learning experience and creates a broader and better understanding of our global community.
